Jesus makes it clear in Chapter 25 of St Matthew’s Gospel that we will be judged, in love, according to how we ministered to Christ in the poor and vulnerable; to those in any kind of need.
With this in mind, St Bernadette’s and St Dunstan’s parishes are involved in several different projects which serve the local community and the wider Church and world. This section explains more about three of the key areas: The St Vincent de Paul Society, CAFOD and Missio.
In addition to these projects, we also raise funds for and offer support for other charitable bodies, often through regular soup lunches. Two such Bristol-based charities are:
Borderlands, a charity based in St Nicolas of Tolentino Parish, Easton, Bristol, which assists refugees and asylum seekers.
The Julian Trust, also known as the Bristol Night Shelter, on the edge of St Paul’s, Bristol.
If we can support any other good causes, or if you would like us to get involved with other local charities, please let us know.
